You loop them together, kill, bounce, counter everything you see, and mill out your opponent. It’s a Clear the Mind deck, simple as that. Here’s a beautiful deck that Reid Duke used to 3-0 at the Mythic Championship. Senate Courier, Senate Griffin, and Faerie Duelist are not bad, but don’t constitute what we call a “skies deck” since they’re not aggressive.Īs it turns out, one of the best archetypes altogether is blue-white “play the least amount of creatures possible” deck. The obvious way to Draft it is the usual blue-white flyers deck, but that happens to be awful because the payoffs ( Windstorm Drake and Spirit of the Spires) don’t make up for the fact that your other flyers are all very underwhelming on their own. This one took a while for everyone to master. I’ve been practicing a fair amount through MTG Arena for the recent Mythic Championship and it certainly is not the best outlet to see how a Draft process goes, but if you play a high volume, you should still get a good grasp of the format as long as you don’t try to abuse the bot’s algorithms. That makes for a lot more different possible archetypes. That was an issue with Guilds of Ravnica, but here, the format is slower and that results in more 3-color decks. While games are still intricate, the drafting process is very in-depth despite technically only having five color combinations (or six if you count the Gates deck). While I liked Guilds of Ravnica for the games, I thought the guilds were lame and the Draft process uninteresting.
If they wanted to make this change, which is inarguably greedy, and stupid, even if within their rights, then the complete failure to give notice of the change to the players, and to lead them on in multiple ways to believe the Quick Drafts would reward Zendikar Rising Full Land art is utterly unacceptable.Drafting Ravnica Allegiance has been a treat and a big change from Guilds of Ravnica.
Either this is a bug or an unforgiveable change that shows ineptitude of WotC continuing to grow.
It should have been announced in the State of the Game and in the Patch Notes. This change, if it is true, without any announcement is simply not right. This is the only reason I played a Quick Draft. There are 15 total Full-Art Basic Lands to collect, and the system prevents players receiving any duplicates." "Until get bonus Full-Art Basic Lands with ZNR pack booster bundles or on entry into any Zendikar Rising Draft or Sealed event. Psst! This also includes the Jace pack pre-order bundle!"Īnd it says that they would be rewarded for any Zendikar draft or sealed in the Patch Notes:
For a limited time, when you purchase a Zendikar Rising booster bundle with at least six boosters or enter a Zendikar Rising Draft or Sealed event, you will also receive copies of the full-art Zendikar Rising basic lands (duplicate protected, of course).
"As for those beautiful full-art basic lands, you'll be able to add them to your collection in a similar fashion to the Godzilla Series Monster card styles we did for Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths. The State of the Game said that the lands would be rewarded similarly to Ikoria: They did reward alternative Godzilla art for Ikoria. Quick Drafts should reward Zendikar lands.
